21 Day Prayer Challenge
21-DAY PRAYER CHALLENGE
I want to ask you to consider accepting the Florida Conference’s 21-Day Prayer Challenge. This challenge aims to bring renewal by deepening our congregation’s individual and collective call to discover new ways to love and care for the community around us. As we head into the end of the year, I am asking each of us to prepare ourselves to be willing to step out and see where God is leading, starting on November 5th as we celebrate Serve Sunday.
There is a prayer journal that is divided by week, each with its own theme: the individual, the congregation, and the community. Every week there is a grounding prayer to be prayed throughout the week, knitting the days together. There is also a weekly challenge-the last two are best done as a team, I’ll get together with the team (we can find a time to meet). At the end of the challenge, we can get together and reflect on how we can move forward.
In 2024 we are going to be looking for ways to “get out of the box” and serve our community. During this challenge we are invited to open our hearts to hear from the Holy Spirit. What is God’s vision for our church? To whom or what are you being called in our congregation, community and beyond?
The 21-Day Prayer Challenge booklet will be available in Connection Central along with a sign-up sheet. Please sign up so we all will know who else has accepted the challenge. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. I’m looking forward to having a group of us accept this prayer challenge. God bless you and God bless First United Methodist Church of High Springs! -Pastor Steve
